These morphological data provide neural anatomical information, as well as foundational knowledge for computational and preclinical studies of vagus nerve stimulation. We collected cervical and subdiaphragmatic vagus nerve samples from pig post-mortem. Following immersion fixation in paraformaldehyde and paraffin embedding, we stained cross sections with Masson’s trichrome and captured images at 10x. The dataset contains nd2 (filetype for Nikon’s NIS-Elements software) and TIFF files for 9 left cervical, 12 right cervical, 12 anterior subdiaphragmatic, and 12 posterior subdiaphragmatic pig vagus nerve samples, totaling ~4.5 GB."}}
